Gaming comfort

When we first got our apartment we also got our first proper grown-up furniture. We chose a small loveseat and matching over-size armchair in a lovely cream microsuede, thinking more about how modern & fashionable they’d look in our apartment than how comfortable they’d be. They are pretty comfy if you’re just sitting around, chatting or watching a movie. But they’re not ideal for more relaxed book-reading or gaming poses, and it’s difficult to fit the husband at the same time, since he’s over six feet.

I’m considering alternatives – something comfortable that can endure the presences of rambunctious cats and handle the daily wear & tear of two gamers who often snack and always have a beverage while watching movies or playing an extended session of Lego Batman.

Two possibilities are available -  getting a bigger & more comfy traditional couch, or getting an oversized beanbag chair. What do you use in your gaming room?
