Three Reasons for the Lady Gamer’s Calling Card

From DailyPoeticsRecently, good old Lifehacker had an article about gentleman’s calling cards and I suddenly realized there was so much more possible with this idea. Most especially, there are odd events that lady gamer’s attend, where such cards could be useful, and so I have made a List of the Top 3 Uses for a Lady Gamer’s Calling Card:

  1. Going to Blizzcon? Make up a Horde or Alliance themed card that lists your server and your main characters name, then pass it out to people who share your loathing for the opposing faction. Extra awesome points? List your Grand Master professions, and mention if you are 133t enough to Tailor a Purple Silk Shirt.
  2. Still a college Princess? Putting a subtle Zelda-theme on your card helps you weed out the cool kids from the bores, important when you’re making the acquaintances you’ll need for study groups later in the semester.
  3. Attending the SD Comic Con and think you’ll run into some old pals? Nothing like including your XboxLive gamertag on your card to increase the odds they’ll join you for a “friendly” game of Gears of War.

I could come up with more reasons, but I’ll stop here. The more mundane ideas presented in other articles are still pretty cool, including using them for family reunions, play-date mom’s fast ‘n easy info swapping and just a cute way of saying “Hey, you’re cool, let’s hang out”.

I am definitely whipping some cards up for myself before classes start Tuesday, and I’ll be sure to let you know how well received they are. :)
